One Displaced After Residential Fire

Just before 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 10th, units with Stafford County Fire and Rescue (SCFR) responded for a reported structure fire in the 00 block of Hall Lane in the Hartwood area. First arriving units marked on scene just over five minutes later and reported smoke coming from the front of a two story, single-family home. Upon further investigation, crews found fire coming from a door in the rear of the home and worked to quickly extinguish the fire. Once inside, crews encountered some access challenges and the fire was extinguished in approximately 10 minutes.

The single occupant of the home self-evacuated prior to the arrival units and was evaluated on scene. There were no reported firefighter injuries. The occupant declined the assistance of the American Red Cross. It is unknown whether smoke alarms were functioning at the time of the fire

The fire originated in the kitchen area of the home and is under investigation by the Stafford County Fire Marshal’s Office. SCFR was assisted on scene by the Fredericksburg Fire Department, Fauquier County Fire and Rescue and the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.
