records the next business day.
In order to provide major credit card
services and to comply with credit card company by-laws, we have contracted with
a third party to process credit card payments. The Office
of the Treasurer uses Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) to
process Visa and MasterCard payments over the internet and Official Payments Corp.® to process American Express and Discover
payments. VITA
will charge a convenience fee of 2% plus $1.00 for each payment
charged. Official Payments
Corp.® fees are available on
their site. These fees are allowed by State law.
