Electronics Recycling Days Set for Stafford and Fredericksburg Residents

The
Rappahannock Regional Solid Waste Management Board (R-Board) has scheduled four
special recycling days for Stafford and Fredericksburg residents to dispose of
used electronics in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
Stafford and Fredericksburg
residents may drop off their old electronics at the Regional Landfill on
Wednesday, September 17, Thursday, September 18, Friday, September 19, and
Saturday, September 20, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Citizens must show proof
of residency in Stafford or Fredericksburg in order to
participate. The landfill is located
at 489 Eskimo Hill
Road.
Items that will be accepted for
recycling include:
- Televisions
- CPUs, computer monitors, laptops and external drives
- Printers, scanners and copiers
- Computer wiring, cables, uninterrupted power supplies and
accessories
- Gaming systems
- Fax machines
- Stereos and speakers
- VCRs, cameras and camcorders
The R-Board has collected more
than 603,000 pounds of electronics for recycling since the program began in
2003. In 2007 alone, 140,000 pounds of electronics were recycled.
