Stafford Hosts Public Information Meeting on "Hot Lanes" for Commuters
May 28

Stafford County officials will hold a meeting on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 to provide information about the impact that the proposed construction of the I-95 and State Route 630 interchange and High Occupancy Toll (HOT) lanes are expected to have on commuters in Stafford.

Members of the Board of Supervisors, County staff and representatives from the Virginia Department of Transportation and the George Washington Regional Commission’s “GWRideConnect” program will present an overview of the construction, and offer details about a variety of ridesharing options that are available in the region. They will discuss transportation alternatives including GWRideConnect’s online commuter database and free guaranteed ride home for emergencies. Information about buses, vanpools, carpools and Virginia Railway Express will also be available.

The meeting will be held at Moncure Elementary School, located at 75 Moncure Lane. Two sessions are scheduled: the first session will begin at 5:00 p.m., and the second will start at 6:00 p.m. There will be presentations, and the public is invited to provide comments and ask questions.
