Primary Elections to be Held February 12th February 5 Voters in Stafford County will be able to cast ballots in either a Republican presidential primary or a Democratic presidential primary on Tuesday, February 12th. Although both primaries will be conducted on the same day at each polling location, voters may participate in only one primary, and must declare whether they wish to vote a Republican or Democratic ballot. “Voters will be provided with the proper ballots or directed to the appropriate touchscreen voting machine after they declare in which primary they wish to vote,” said Voter Registrar Sharon Persinger. Voters are required to show valid identification, including a voter registration card or Virginia driver’s license. If they cannot present identification, they will be required to complete a form affirming their identity. Voters may cast absentee ballots weekdays through Friday, February 8th, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. in the Registrar’s Office, located in the Administration Center at 1300 Courthouse Road. The last day to cast absentee ballots in person is Saturday, February 9th, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the Registrar’s Office. The polls will be open on February 12th from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. For more information about the
presidential primaries, please contact the Voter Registrar’s Office at (540)
