Stafford To Hold Transportation Forum

Stafford County officials will conduct a transportation forum on June 1, 2007 to discuss local, state and federal resources that are available or will become available to address road construction projects in the county. The forum is scheduled to run from 9:00 a.m. – noon at Belmont (Gari Melchers Home and Studio) located at 224 Washington Street in Falmouth, Virginia.

Secondary road funding will also be discussed.

Officials who are scheduled to attend include members of the Stafford Board of Supervisors, Virginia Secretary of Transportation Pierce Homer; VDOT Commissioner David Ekern; Speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates Bill Howell; Commonwealth Transportation Board members Cord Sterling and Mary Lee Carter; and Lloyd Robinson from the Fredericksburg Area Metropolitan Planning Organization. Representatives from Quantico Marine Corps Base and the Federal Highway Administration will also attend.
