Family Film and Fun Festival Scheduled for June 2, 2007

Join Stafford County Parks and Recreation and the Stafford Tourism Office for a day of water sports, children’s activities and entertainment at the Stafford Family Film and Fun Fest on Saturday, June 2nd at Curtis Memorial Park. The event, sponsored by B101.5, begins at 5:00 p.m. Admission is free for county and non-county residents.

Activities at the Curtis Park pool will include relay races, games and a belly flop contest. Pool hours will be extended until 8 p.m., and regular pool fees will apply. Canoes, kayaks and fishing equipment will be available for use at Curtis Lake. All children must be accompanied by an adult during waterfront activities. Other entertainment includes a K-9 demonstration by the Stafford Sheriff’s Office, gymnastics demonstrations, a dog agility course and several shows featuring magician Paul Hadfield.

A variety of golf clinics will be held at the Gauntlet Golf Course adjacent to the park. Relays, horseshoe games, lazar tag, stacking cup races, and displays of emergency vehicles will also be available for all ages to enjoy. The featured movie, “E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial,” will begin at dusk.   

Vendors selling food and drinks will be located on-site. No alcohol, tobacco products, glass containers or pets are permitted at the event.
