Stafford Reopens Falmouth Beach for Swimming
June 8

Effective immediately, Stafford County officials have opened Falmouth Beach on the Stafford side of the Rappahannock River for swimming. Dr. Thomas Franck, Health Director of the Rappahannock Area Health District, has determined from tests of water samples taken off the beach that the water is safe for swimming. The Health Department has determined that there is no longer any health risk to people who visit the park or choose to swim in the river.

Officials in the City of Fredericksburg have opened Old Mill Park for swimming. The park had also been closed earlier in the week due to E. coli contamination.
