Stafford, Prince William to Discuss BRAC Issues

A committee of members of the Board of Supervisors from Stafford and Prince William counties will hold a meeting of the Quantico Growth Management Committee at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, August 6, to discuss how actions of the Base Realignment and Closure Commission will affect their respective communities.  

Staff from Quantico Marine Corps Base and the Department of Defense (DOD) will present the results of a federally-mandated Environmental Impact Statement to the committee. Immediately following the meeting at 7:30 p.m., a DOD-sponsored public forum will be held to solicit comments from citizens about the environmental study. Maps, site plans and visuals of road networks will be on display. Individuals will be able to ask questions and to submit their comments during the forum.  

The following Board members from Stafford are on the committee: Robert Gibbons, Rock Hill District; Mark Dudenhefer, Garrisonville District; and Paul Milde, Aquia District. The following members are from the Prince William Board of Supervisors: Hilda Barg, Woodbridge District; Maureen Caddigan, Dumfries District; and John Jenkins, Neabsco District.

Both the Quantico Growth Management Committee meeting and the DOD public forum will be held be held in Conference Room ABC in the Administration Center located at 1300 Courthouse Road.
