Illegal Immigration Task Force Invites Public Input

The Illegal Immigration Task Force invites community organizations and representatives of the immigrant community to provide input into a study on the impact of illegal immigration on Stafford County Government services.

The Task Force will hold two meetings to hear public comments. The meetings are scheduled for Wednesday, December 12th and Wednesday, December 19th, at 4:00 p.m. The December 12th meeting will take place in the Board of Supervisors Chambers, Stafford Administration Center, 1300 Courthouse Road, and the December 19th meeting will take place in onference Rooms ABC in the Stafford Administration Center, 1300 Courthouse Road.

Individuals will be given three minutes to speak, and representatives of groups or community organizations will be given 15 minutes for their presentations.

The Illegal Immigration Task Force was created by the Board of Supervisors on September 4 to study, report and make recommendations regarding the costs and benefits of illegal immigration to and on Stafford County by April 1, 2008. Membership includes representatives from various departments of the Stafford County government, the Health Department, and Stafford County public schools.

All meetings of the Task Force are open to the public.
