Beautification Committee
The Stafford County Beautification Committee is responsible for planning and developing
projects to beautify Stafford and encourage the reduction of litter within the
community. Committee members coordinate the Adopt-a-Spot program, Clean Community Awards, and built and planted the stone planters at the bases of the "Welcome to Historic Stafford" signs. The primary interest of the Beautification Committee is education and outreach to the community. Committee members have created several educational programs for Stafford's elementary schools to teach students about the harmful effects of litter and the benefits of recycling.
The Committee consists of 12 volunteers appointed by the Stafford Board
of Supervisors. They represent each election district, Stafford Public Schools, the Master Gardeners, the Stafford Cooperative Extension Office, Stafford Sheriff's Office, and County
government. The Committee meets on the third Thursday of each month, except August and December. The meetings are held in Conference Rooms A, B, C, of the Stafford Administration Center at the intersection of Route 1 and Courthouse Road (Rt. 630). The public is welcome to attend the meetings and participate in outreach activities.
