Site Plan Review

Applications for major and minor site plans are available and may be submitted to the Stafford County Department of Planning and Zoning. A site plan is required to be submitted for the following:
  1. Any development in which automobile parking spaces are used by more than one establishment.
  2. New construction, reconstruction or expansion of structures in all zoning districts, except single family detached units in R-1 or A-1 districts, agricultural uses on active farms, agricultural or sea food wayside stands, and commercial floor area.
  3. Changes proposed to the exterior elements of an approved site plan.
  4. Changes in use of the structure from residential to commercial, industrial or multi-family residential use.
  5. All public or semi-public buildings.
  6. New construction in any historic district.
  7. Construction in any flood plain area.
