Below is a summary of the progress of the Plan revision with dates of previously held meetings and upcoming dates:

February 8, 2006
The Planning Commission’s Comprehensive Plan Committee held a meeting to discuss the upcoming update to the Comprehensive Plan. Staff presented background information explaining the Comprehensive Plan’s importance in shaping the future growth of the County, provided a review of State Code enabling legislation, reviewed how the plan update process may be carried out, and the potential elements of the plan.

April 8, 2006
The County retained the services of Michael Chandler to conduct an education seminar regarding the upcoming Plan revision. Mr. Chandler educated the participants on what a comprehensive plan is and shared his knowledge of best practices in Comprehensive Planning.

April 17, 2006
The Steering Committee conducted its kickoff meeting with the consultant to work on a vision for the plan, develop a community survey, and discuss future Focus Groups. Click here for a meeting summary.

May 15, 2006
A Steering Committee meeting was held to finalize the Community Survey, discuss Focus Groups, upcoming Public Forums, and Committee organization.
