Recycling, Litter Prevention and Landfill

Visit the Rappahannock Regional Solid Waste Management Board's website: www.r-board.org for recycling and landfill information.

The Stafford Office of Litter Prevention and Recycling has a multi-pronged approach to the litter problem. In addition to staff who pick up litter and coordinate regular cleanups with community organizations, we provide supplies for individuals or groups who wish to volunteer their time to pick up trash. In addition, the Rappahannock Regional Solid Waste Management Board provides several different litter prevention presentations to school and scout groups.

Stafford County Code Section 21-62 - Littering Prohibited
It shall be unlawful for a person to drop or dispose of litter on public or private property except in a  litter receptacle in such a manner to prevent the litter from falling or blowing out or at the County's sanitary landfill.
