MINUTES
Adjourned Meeting Call to Order. An adjourned meeting of the Stafford County Board of Supervisors was called to order by Jack R. Cavalier, Chairman, at 5:05 P. M., Tuesday, March 27, 2007, in the Board Chambers, Stafford County Administration Center. Roll Call. The following members were present: Robert C. Gibbons; Paul V. Milde III; George H. Schwartz; M. S. “Joe” Brito; Jack R. Cavalier, Chairman; L. Mark Dudenhefer, Vice Chairman; and Peter J. Fields. Also in attendance were: Anthony Romanello, Deputy County Administrator; Joe Howard, County Attorney and Marty Beard, Chief Deputy Clerk. Legislative; Work Session with School Board on School Budget. Mr. Robert Belman, Chairman of the School Board, gave a presentation on the proposed School Budget. Discussion ensued. Budget; Authorize a Public Hearing on Proposed 2007 Property Tax Rates and FY2008 County Budgets. The Deputy County Administrator gave a presentation and responded to Board members questions. Mr. Fields motioned, seconded by Mr. Schwartz, to adopt proposed Resolution R07-79. Discussion ensued.
The Voting Board tally was: Resolution R07-79 reads as follows:
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR WHEREAS, the Code of Virginia requires that the governing body shall cause to be published in a newspaper having general circulation in the County, a brief synopsis of the budget, proposed property tax levies, and notices at a public hearing, at which any citizen of the County shall have the right to attend and state views thereon; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Stafford County Board of Supervisors on this the 27th day of March, 2007, that the County Administrator be and he hereby is authorized to publish a brief synopsis of the Proposed Fiscal Year 2008 County Budgets for public hearing on April 17, 2007, and the Proposed 2007 Property Tax Rates for public hearing on April 17, 2007. Recess. At 5:50 P.M., the Chairman declared a recess. Call to Order. At 6:59 P.M., the Chairman called the meeting back to order. Legislative; Work Session on Employee Compensation and Health Insurance. Ms. Tammi Ellis, Director of Human Resources, gave a presentation and responded to Board members questions.
Hearing no objections from the Board, this item was referred to a committee of Adjournment. At 7:50 P. M., the Chairman declared the meeting adjourned.
